SrveAI does not sell your personal data. We use your data only to provide and improve our Services.

  • Account Information: Email address, display name, and authentication credentials when you create an account.
  • Photos: Images you capture or upload for restaurant recognition.
  • Reviews & Content: Reviews, ratings, and other content you create and share.
  • Preferences: Dietary restrictions, allergies, cuisine preferences, and other settings you configure.
  • Payment Information: Billing details processed by Apple for subscriptions. We do not store your payment card information.
  • Communications: Information you provide when contacting support or providing feedback.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Location Data: With your permission, we collect your device's location to provide nearby restaurant recommendations.
  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and app version.
  • Usage Data: How you interact with the Services, features used, pages visited, and actions taken.
  • Log Data: IP address, browser type, access times, and referring URLs.

Information from Third Parties

  • Authentication Providers: If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive basic profile information from those services.
  • Restaurant Data: We receive restaurant information from Google Places API and other data providers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Services
  • Identify restaurants from photos you capture
  • Provide personalized restaurant recommendations based on your preferences and history
  • Process transactions and manage your subscription
  • Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages

  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity

  • Create aggregated, de-identified data for analytics and service improvement

3. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With third parties who perform services on our behalf, including cloud hosting (Supabase), AI processing (Google Cloud, OpenAI), and analytics.
  • Community Features: Reviews and content you choose to publish are visible to other users.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • With Your Consent: When you direct us to share information with third parties.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase: Authentication and database hosting
  • Google Cloud Vision API: Image recognition
  • Google Places API: Restaurant information
  • OpenAI: AI-powered recommendations
  • Apple App Store: Subscription and payment processing

These services have their own privacy policies governing their use of your data.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. We may retain certain information after account deletion for legal compliance, dispute resolution, or legitimate business purposes. De-identified and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.

Account Information

You can access, update, or delete your account information through the app settings. You can also request a copy of your data or account deletion by contacting us.

Location Data

You can enable or disable location access through your device settings at any time.

Communications

You can opt out of promotional communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages.

8. Impact of Denying Permissions

SrveAI requires certain permissions to function properly. If you deny these permissions, some features may be limited or unavailable:

  • Camera Access (Required): Without camera access, you cannot use the core restaurant scanning feature. This is essential for the app's primary functionality.
  • Location Access (Optional but Recommended): Without location access, the Discover feature will show general recommendations instead of nearby restaurants. Distance information and location-based sorting will not be available.
  • Photo Library Access (Optional): Without photo library access, you can still use the live camera but cannot scan photos from your camera roll.
  • Notifications (Optional): Without notification permissions, you won't receive updates about new features or recommendations.

You can change these permissions at any time in your device's Settings app under SrveAI.

9. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

10. International Data Transfers

SrveAI is based in the United States. Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

11. California Privacy Rights

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of sales (though we do not sell personal information). We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
